Welcome to the home of the Phi Delta Chapter of Theta Tau, the nation’s oldest and
foremost professional co-ed engineering fraternity. My name is Maayan Mendelson, and
I am honored to serve as the Regent for the Spring 2025 semester.
Since being initiated in the Fall of 2022, Theta Tau has been my home away from home
and my experiences as a Brother have been invaluable. Being surrounded by
passionate engineers has motivated me to pursue new opportunities in my career that I
otherwise would not have known about. The opportunity to give back to the Tallahassee
community in various ways, whether it be Habitat for Humanity or K-12 STEM
education, has highlighted the importance of service in the engineering profession. And
ultimately I found a support system that I consider family.
I would be remiss to mention our unique status as a joint chapter. Similar to the College
of Engineering, our chapter jointly represents Florida A&M University and Florida State University. The intersection of a top HBCU and R1 research institution allows our
chapter to celebrate a diverse brotherhood - providing the opportunity for students from
each home campus to come together for the betterment of our chapter and engineering
profession. At its core, Theta Tau is about building a community that reaches beyond
university and prioritizes professionalism, service, and support.
Whether you are a prospective member, or just curious about who we are, I invite you to
see what makes Phi Delta so special. Feel free to explore our website, connect with us
on social media, or attend an event during recruitment.
